CASSANDRA CLARE STEAMPUNK WRITING STUDIO/ APOTHECARY

As you may know, Cassandra Clare has over 36 million books in print and is often labeled the Queen of Urban Fantasy.  She is the New York Times #1 bestselling author of the Mortal Instruments series and has legions of rabid fans (both teen and adult).

Clare lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband (also an author) and they and converted an old barn into a writer's studio/ apothecary bar which they named The Blade and Angel.  It is a labor of love and they commissioned work from an exceptional Steampunk art and design company, Modvic, also based in Massachusetts.

Modvic’s works with clients across the country and The Blade and Angel installation brings the setting of one of Clare’s beloved tomes to life.  Almost everything on the studio side of the barn are repurposed antique pharmacy/ apothecary objects transformed into modern functional appliances, lighting, and art.

In March Clare will be going on a a major book tour aboard a “rock-star” bus wrapped in artwork from her latest book to launch a brand new series: Lady Midnight: The Dark Artifices Book One (S&S, March 8, 2016).
